    Good day

I have just purchased an HP Dv6161ea notebook - T5500 and 1gig ram.

    I love it.

My concern though is that after about 30 min the left palm rest gets hot and so too does the mouse pad. It is almost as if the heat spreads from the left side to the center (the mouse pad) and then does not go over to the right palm rest.

Is anyone else experiencing the same situation and should it be this way?

    Thanks

    Nev

Measure the temperature of your hard drive and CPU. Use NHC or Coretemp.
The heat depends heavily on the ambient temperature. If your room temperature is high, so would be your notebook temp.

    Thanks for the info

My cores are running at 39C. Is that a safe temp?

My hard drive temp does not show. Even when using NHC and the latest patch.

i purchased a hp dv6120 and same problem is there too.
i had cheapest model of Dell before, DELL B130 but it never gave me any problem like that. another thing is even if temperature does not reach 100 c but it reaches 40 c even then it hurts my left palm.
