How do I totally get rid of the preinstalled bloatware without having to reinstall Vista on my DV6700t?

If reinstall is the only method, what must I take heed of in order to keep those important drivers for the webcam, quickplay etc.?

But reinstalling Vista using the recovery disk still won't get rid of the HP bloatware, will it? The bloatware is pre-installed in the recovery disk, isn't it?

Yeah, but the link he posted deals with clean installation using a regular or clean Vista disc. The only other option is to uninstall the unnecessary programs from the system and tidy up any of the junk left behind manually.

Even if you uninstall all the bloatware and then clean the junk afterwards you still won't come close to the performance increase that a clean install will give you. Follow the link that harpreet1988 posted and that will tell you everything you need to know about a clean install.

Once you do a clean install I recommend downloading a program such as norton ghost or acronis backup exec to make a backup of your system so you can just restore it at any time you want to do another clean install. You can get demos of the programs to make the backups so they'll be free for now.

Also, make sure you create your recovery disks before you do a clean install. This is very important!!!
