From what I hear the Go7200 is approximately 33% faster than the Go6150. I'm contemplating a dv2000z, but I haven't seen the Go7200 option available. Interestingly I've seen it made available on a prepackaged laptop that isn't available for sale.

What bugs me about buying this laptop is the fact that the system is crippled by the low end graphics. What are other peoples thoughts on the subject.

Even if the 7200 is ever released, I suspect that it will only be an option on the Core Duo version. I would suggest that you just get your laptop now. It's not really worth the wait. I'd personally go with the Core Duo (Intel) version of the HP dv2000, but the AMD version would work fine too. The prices have been "readjusted" in the last few days such that the Intel version is really a better deal that the AMD version. It's like ~$20 more but come with 1 GB of ram!

Is your recommendation based solely on price? Right now there's a pretty good deal at office depot with there build your own putting the dv2000z at a very attractive price.

    egarbage,

You have to go to the physical Office Depot location and use one of their local machines to build the PC. The options are a bit different than the ones on the HP site.

What I hate is that I want the Intel one, but I'm leaning towards AMD solely because of the better video card.

Oddly my ATI card came with a Intel Dual Core. I wonder if ATI just started to work with Intel.

Given that AMD bought ATI several months ago, I would say no.
