I have a dual boot dv6000t configured with 1.0gb RAM and Go7400, I was surprised to see that Vista has increased the total memory to 383mb (allocated 255mb for turbocache instaed of 128).

My question is, anybody out there tried it on 2.0GB memory, will the memory allocated for Go700 be increased?

Somehow I don't trust Vista's reported memory allocation numbers on the 7-series nVidia cards. The amount changes with different driver versions, as my Go 7200 is currently reported to have 1,071MB of vram available to it with driver version 7.15.11.6215. The previous driver reported around 683MB. ;)

I don't think the Go 7200 is capable of using any more than 256MB anyway........

    :)

The amount of VRAM that a card uses can vary depending on the driver and how much RAM you have available. My 8600m GS came with only 255 dedicated and 256 VRAM, but when I upgraded the driver and upgraded to 4GB of ram it is now allocating 1.7 GB of VRAM for the card. The driver before that had the VRAM set at 768MB, so depending on the amount of RAM and the driver version you will experience different amounts of VRAM for your card.

Once you get over 256 or 512 (128 for the weaker cards like the 7400), the difference in turbocache doesn't do a thing for speed.

Honestly the difference TurboCache makes is much anyways... within the 7 Series. The main reason being is the Vram is much much much slower. The only thing I can see this being useful for is running more than one screen over 1680 x 1050...
