I am thinking of buying one of these models (Nc8430 / nw8440). In addition to configuration etc even the stylish looks are very important to me.

Can someone please throw some light on how good these laptops look..

Purely going by the stylish looks how do you rate them on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the Apple MacBook Pro!)

Do they really look very plane and ugly or they are reasonably Ok? compared to other pavilion models like DV6000t or an Asus G1 ?

Especially I thought NC8430 is a reasonably stylish model..Am i correct ? or it is equally plane like NW8440 ?

Any good pictures will really help.

    Thanks

Well, if saw someone coming with this laptop...I'd think they mean business and mean what they say. I'm serious! Of course, my opinion might be a little bias... :)

    7/10

The pavilions look a little flashier and I don't know about the G1.

The nw8440 and nc8430 both share the same chassis I believe. In any event HP's business laptops follow a commonly themed design, so they definitely look similar. If you want a few pictures of the nc8430 just read through my review of the model (link in my sig).

HP Business Notebooks are charcoal colored, with a black keyboard, and the keyboard's surrounding areas (Quick Launch Buttons, etc.). The edges and bottom are black as well. It's plain, but some people love a nice clean simplistic look.

    Hi

Some pictures show the NC8430 in black where as in some it appear to be grey. What is the actual colour ?

Similarly whats is the actual colour of HP NW8440 ?

    Thanks

only real gripe i have is the power button.. it seems out of place to me. and the smooth charcoal color looks good in dim/shaded area but not under bright lighting which makes it look like a burnt shiny piece of wood.

    5/10.

Reason being that it has too many ridges which collect dirt, and that the extra plastic matte rubs off leaving shiny. Wherehas the perfect Macbook is metal and doesn't abrase the matte easily, nor is it ridgey.
