    Hi all,

Any recommendations for an external monitor to hook up to my new dv5t? I am looking for a 20 or 22", 1680x1050 resolution or better. Want to spend around $200-250, but can go up a little if needed. I tried an Acer P221W that I got for $200 from Costco, but it wasn't very good -- I could notice wavy, what I believe to be refresh, lines while I look at it. It would have driven me crazy.

I know the dv5t only has VGA or HDMI inputs, so if you know of a good HDMI monitor in my price range, that would probably be preferable.

    Thanks for any recommendations.

Well, I just bought an HP w2007 (the older model, not the h models) for pretty cheap at OfficeMax (I had some coupons and stuff). We'll see how that works out when I get it.

    Anyone have the w2007?

    Thanks.

I have the HP w2207h and it's a beauty. I love the fact that it has BrightView, makes everything pop and look lifelike. I don't know the case now, but when I bought it about 9months ago, most desktop LCDs didn't have Brightview or any other proprietary Brightview version.

Best part about it is that it goes perfect with my HP laptop! It might end up being a little more expensive but IMO it's well worth it. I didn't run any display tests or any of that BS so I don't know how it "scores" but in real life it's a stunner no matter what you're looking at.

For the record, you are going to be hard pressed to find a 20' LCD with a resolution of 1680x1050. You are going to need to bump up to a 22in LCD for that...

If you don't want to pony up for the HP versions then look for a good Samsung.

    Good luck!

Has HDMI, 1680x1050, Brightview, USB hub...

It's $20 out of your range... but in all honesty, I think it's well worth the cost...g'luk once again!

    Thanks for the input!!

I just bought the older model w2007 that has 1680x1050, no HDMI, but I am getting it for about $190 or something like that. Not too bad.

You could just a get a HDMI to DVI cable. Not too expensive on NewEgg. Atleast with that it's digital.
