I received my DV9500T about a month ago and on 8/27 I sent it in for repairs. (Issues with speakers) I just got it back as of today 8/31 and have some good news to report!

It seems they have released a Revision F.22 BIOS as opposed to the latest on there site which is F.09!

It also seems they are slowly releasing/updating Windows XP Drivers for the DV9500T due to the sheer demand of people who wish to use XP. (More than likely to compete will Dell)

:D :D That is good to know because that notebook is a candidate for my needs as I am buying a new multimedia laptop end of this year or early next year! Any ideas on when they are going to officially start supporting XP?

If you just got it, why did you send it in for repairs?

Do not expect to see an option that allows you to put SATA into legacy mode. That mode is over and done with. You can install XP, but you need to load the SATA drivers during installation, just like if you were using a SCSI disk or RAID disk.

Also, where do you see that they will be supporting XP on these notebooks? I haven't seen that one.

A member on these forums stated that Mark Hurd and HP said they are going to begin supporting Windows XP again driver wise. However they did not give an exact date or give an estimate. Since then I've seen a new XP Driver under DV9500T and an update to an older XP Driver which tells me HP are working on it.

I didn't just get it, I recieved it a month ago and there was a slight issue with the speakers, I could have kept using it but it rattled while typing. (Issue with Speakers not being in their correct spot) I sent it in with F.09 BIOS and got it back with F.22 BIOS. I must say that the performance of the Laptop in general seems to be increased, using the same drivers and slipstreamed OS as before I sent it in.

I sent it in for repairs on 8/27 and recieved it back on 8/31 and was quite impressed with how quickly they got it back to me.

Anyways, even if they don't bring back Legacy Mode for SATA they are supposidly going to be releasing official drivers for Windows XP sometime soon. This is due to the numerous complaints people are having since they don't wish to use Vista.

But if you look on these forums Mujjiman and I have driver packs for the DV9500T where you can run Windows XP perfectly. (In fact I'm about to go search for updated drivers now since I have to reformat my Laptop again due to it now having Vista on it)
