No new drivers to post today, so I figured I'd start a thread where people could post applications that they use that work well with Vista and are useful on your notebook.

    My list of favorites:

Microsoft Office 2007 -- works GREAT with Vista, and the new interface is awesome
Windows Live Messenger -- mainly an IM program, but I can use this to access my webcam, so that's a plus
    Daemon Tools 4.08 -- virtual DVD/CD drive -- a must have
Divx 6.5 -- video codec -- not entirely compatible but works to play most files (new version to be released in a couple of weeks)
iTunes 7.0.2 -- music jukebox -- also has some compatibility issues (mainly when upgrading from XP), but works well overall -- is also set to be updated within a few weeks
    Nero 7.7.5.1 -- CD/DVD recording software -- works flawlessly
VideoLan 0.86a -- video player -- the ultimate video player -- will play almost anything -- works great, but you need to set video output mode to OpenGL instead of DirectX under Vista
Symantec Corporate Antivirus 10.2 --Great, compact antivirus program for Vista, but you'll need an employer or school that has a license to get a copy
Adobe Acrobat 8 -- improved version, works well with Vista, and now has an x64 compatible printer driver in the Professional version
WinRAR 3.7 beta 3 -- Archive file compressor/decompressor -- this is a lifesaver -- skip the 3.62 version as it has issues with Vista
JRE 6 -- Java -- Not sure why the main jave download page still has JRE 5, but you can grab version 6 from http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp which is the version you should run on Vista -- prevents DWM from dropping out of aero mode when Java programs are launched

Anyway, those are my picks for "must-have" programs. All are working (or mostly working) on Vista x64. What are everyone else's?

Wonderful post jade, I agree 100% on all of those.

Only thign I would change is inside of the DivX codec, it would probably be a better idea to get the Vista Codec Package (google for it) Installs every codec need, even though VLC player can play anything.
