This is in Italy, where I'm at for the summer.

My zv6000 (1-yr warranty, still covered) suddenly stopped reading DVDs and needed its ODD replaced. After a friendly, but sadly vain e-mail exchange and a phone call last Monday, HP took my lappy through UPS on Wednesday 7-12.

It was returned today (7-17) at 8:30 a.m. sharp, again with UPS. Five days including the weekend. The drive was replaced and they re-installed the OS.

Needless to say, I couldn't be happier about it all. I'd heard they had good tech assistance, but I certainly couldn't imagine this much. Kudos HP! :D

That's impressive! I've had great support from their online help too...very nice service for those that don't feel like hopping on a phone for those easier issues. Glad to hear you have had a good experience...I have a ZV6000 also and loving it!

I was able to get them to send me a QuickPlay 2.0 CD for free after a few tries.

I wish my experience was a good as yours! My dv5030us has the ATI Xpress 200M chipset with non-compliant USB 2.0 ports. HP refuses to replace my notebook, even though it's only 4 months old, and told me to make the store honor their warranty. Even though it'll cost me another $50 and about 4 hours more of my time to drive down there. Thanks a lot HP. Not only did I waste over $1200, but now I have to waste even more time and money because of your mistake

Yep, it's one good machine! A tad heavy to carry around, but when it stays on the desk it's just awesome. It can even run Doom 3, lol.
