Hey guys i have a hp dv5t with a 2 ghz intel T5800 and a Nvidia 9600 512 mb gpu. I was just wondering what good temperatures for this computer are, because im trying to be really cautious with this computer since my last one broke. Also is there anything I can do to reduce temperatures other than cooler? I have one but doesn't seem to do much. Thanks!
Oh and by good temps i mean temps that might necessarily make the computer fry but i dont want to put undue stress on it either.

CPU: <70C
GPU: <90C
HDD: <60C
Measure Temps with HWMonitor.
Undervolting your CPU will help alot. Read the Undervolting Guide.
And regularly cleaning out vents and fans.
Re-Applying Thermal Paste as well , but thats pretty much unnesesary. -
ugh my cpu is getting to 80 playing tf2, graphics stays in mid 60s... Might need Zalman cooler the targus chilmat i have right now doesnt sit over the cpu so its not cooling it i guess.

Not Good, i highly suggest you Undervolt and get a Cooler.
See my Enermax Aeolus Review in Sig. I have pics of the dv5t on it. The dv5t appears to work well on it too. -
I have a P8600 w/9600m and I am using an Antec cooler (see link).

My current temps are...
CPU --> 26C (both cores)
GPU --> 39C
HDD --> 36C
Temps while gaming... (with a cooler)
CPU --> 63C / 57C (Core 0, Core 1)
GPU --> 60C
HDD --> 43C -
is there a guide anywhere to clean out the vents in the dv5t? i tried to take off the back of my laptop to clean out the heatsink... but to no avail. thanks
