Got My Lappy From Service Center. Have Some Queries.

I got my lappy from service center. I still have these problems:-

1. I got my xp media center upgraded to vista home premium.The sound volume in vista home premium is very low(the sound level is not more than 20% of what i got in xp). i have checked every setting. Hp service center said that this will happen in vista. I would like like to know whether there is a way to increase the sound volume.

2. I don't have quick play installed on my system and service center has refuse to load it. I check the swsetup and could only find quick dvd. i installed that. I would like to know how can i load quick play.

3. I would like to watch movies from dvd without booting the system by using the quick play button. but when i press the button the whole computer start and windows load. How can i use this feature of watching movie without booting windows.

4. there is some stuck in the vent below the computer like a yellow plastic. Should i take it out. here is the pic:-
