Not everything was fixed! The wireless card, system board and hinge cover (i dont know why) was replaced, except my battery does not charge past 18% and my second USB port still does not function. I am planning on calling my case manager tomorrow. However, I need to keep my laptop since I need it for school work. Any possibility that I can get a replacement? If you guys have any suggestions for what I should say to the case manager PLEASE let me know :D

Just do what I did and tell them being without your laptop was a major problem already and you can't afford to be without it again. Just ask if they can replace it since they were on able to fix two items.

Show alot of anger and dissapointment while keeping it proffesional. State all the problems that wasnt fixed then tell the case manager that it is unacceptable service.

Most likely theyll ask you to send it back again for repairs though

flipfire and RealtorKen, thanks a lot, hopefully Ken your solution will work. Because its true, I can't be without it any longer and the last time I sent it in, it was with them for about a month :/

Any more suggestions, feel free to post them, I need all the suggestions you got! :D

I did the same thing. I told them I need the laptop for work purposes and can't live without it. So they said they'll send me a brand new laptop. But they have to charge your card full amount and when you send the defective one back they credit you. Very worth it, because then you know for a fact you are getting a new laptop, not some shoddy repair job.

Is there a standard laptop preconfigured that they send to everyone? Or does it depend on each person? I have a dv5020us and was wondering what I could possibly be getting

Depends on case manager, how he sees the compensation for this matter i guess. Hes gonna make you send it in for repairs again though. The lemon law might apply in your country (3 repair tries before replacement)

Policy for replacements is value equal or more. Most likely a dv6000 that has specs which they sell on the website. They normally dont send out phased out/outdated parts and specs on a laptop.

Personally in my situation... I offered to let them charge my card but they said no and let me keep my laptop. I actually just sent my old one back last night. Now I have to wait to send this one back until I get my new one

I am in a similar situation. I sent my dv2000t in to be fixed at the end of Decemeber. They replaced the system board and put in a new hard drive with a copy of Windows Vista that wouldn't even boot properly. I then installed my own copy of WinXP, and then later noticed that it wouldn't charge any battery I used. I asked a friend to let me check out my batteries on his dv2000, and they worked just fine.

So, I sent it back in earlier this month to be fixed. They didn't do anything to the system itself, and sent it back with a new battery packaged. That doesn't help in any way, and was a complete waste of my time.

I'm not really sure where to go from here.. I can't afford to send it back in (again) for a crap repair job, but at the same time I need it to work properly. I can maybe ask for a replacement, but this requires a credit card? I can't charge anything.
