Wow, I am so glad I ditched the MBP for this machine. I don't think I will ever get a non-business class laptop again. The quality of this thing is amazing.
I did make one small mistake, I picked the wrong model number, and got a CD-RW/DVD Rom instead of the DVD burner, but I never burn DVDs anyway so it's not really a big deal. (except as I write this I am burning my 8 Vista recovery CDs. Lame)
The keyboard is just wonderful to use, screen is great with very little back light bleeding, just a tiny amount at the bottom which I had to go out of my way to look for. Quite as a mouse, never seems to get hot. All in all it's just an amazing machine.

If I am not wrong you might be able to get the internal DVD/CD burner since it was listed on the accessories of the hp business models. But its probably not worth it since it have a $200 price tag.

I use my flash drives drives for just about any file transfer/storage, in the rare case that I would need to burn a DVD, I can just use my desktop, or my external writer. It's not worth the extra money just to say, "Oh yeah, I have a DVD writer in here....see all the dust it's collecting!"
I am in love with this notebook though, it's just out-right amazing. Just swapped out the 60 gig 5400 RPM drive, with a Seagate 160 7200 RPM drive. Took 5 minutes. Hard to believe I was going to have to spend $60 CAD to get an Apple tech to do the same thing with my MBP so I didn't void my warranty. So glad I made the switch, back to HP. -
Yep its not worth it the pay that amount just to have a dvd/cd burner. It is good to hear that you was able to swap the hard drive with no problems. So if you have a Mac and you want to do it your self you void the warranty?

If you do it correctly, they probably wouldn't know, but it's a massive pain in the bum. You have pretty much take apart the whole computer to get to the HD. There are some video guides on how to do it, but considering one wrong move, and your warranty is gone. It's not really worth it to do it yourself. IMO
I am just glad I ditched the MBP for the 6910p. I really didn't realize just how crappy the keyboard on the MBP was until I started using the HP. I do miss the LED screen, but the screen on the HP is far better than I was expecting.
As weird as it sounds, I think I missed Windows too. lol
Got my 6910p!!
