Unhappy about a couple of things.

1)Unfortunatly I got a SEC screen. It doesn't seem so bad and ive never seen the others to compare with but it doesn't seem too bright and the thought that it's the bad one is really eating me away. However I'm not sure if I'm ganna return and reorder as the next shipping date for the T7200 processor is 3 weeks away and I really need this computer now.

2)When I unplug the computer from the AC it makes a wierd screeching sound from the inside. (Sounds "electrical") It is very faint but quite noticible if you're sitting alone in a quite room. Very wierd. Seems like it might be a battery issue as there is absolutely no sound when the laptop is plugged in. Don't know what to do? DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS ALSO OR IS IT A DEFECT??

    The SEC screen is atrocious.

I'm already in the process of returning my dv2000 for the SECOND time because I keep getting that God awful SEC screen.

I just got my dv2000t, too. It also has a SEC screen. The screen hasn't given me much reason to complain yet, though only exception was playing a DVD on it. It took some adjusting to get a decent view and even then it still wasn't that great. It annoys me that I got stuck with a SEC screen, but I don't think its worth sending back just for that right now. Especially since, as Superhuman pointed out, there's no guarantee I'll get anything better in a replacement.

I don't think I unplugged mine when it was on, but no I haven't heard the sound you described. I'd call up HP support and ask them about it.

You might bug them about the SEC screen while you're at it, but I doubt you'll get anywhere with that.

my experience is with the dv5000, so I guess the dv2000 must be completely different because I LOVED the SEC screen I had. I also had one with a LG screen that was very nice too, just not as bright. Interesting because i've been reading alot that people don't like the SEC screens, when I thought it was the brightest, nicest i've ever seen. Must use different SEC panels in the dv2000.

it really is a shame that we can't choose the screen manufacturer, or the manufacturer isn't consistent in all there products. maybe you can tell by serial number or somehting?
