Got off the phone with hp about envy. Seems it really might be discontinued?

My friend and I spoke to an hp representative about his envy 14 last night. He says that his fan is always running on low even when he isnt doing much of anything. So hp decided he can send it in for a new one.

    Thats when things got interesting.

My friend ordered an envy 14 with an i5 560m, however hp claimed that they cannot give him an envy14 with that same configuration anymore. Actually they claimed that they cannot do anymore replaceable customized envy14. His only options now is the quick ship envy14 model or the envy 14 beats edition. The representative then said that they are currently doing upgrades to their models.

I found that interesting so I decided to share it with you guys.

Maybe they will bring back the E15 in place?

well Sandy Bridge is not releasing dual cores until February so I would assume the refresh is coming in early February so they can release both CPU's together..the have a refresh for Envy 17 so why discontinue the 14? Maybe they'll come up with the 13 and 15 again..I would really consider the 13

I'd rather have the 14, I prefer the middle between 13 and 15... IMO 13 is too small for a screen for my uses and 15 isn't all that portable ;)

well considering the Envy 14 is actually 14.5", I don't think the 15 would be that much bigger. And looking back at the last Envy 15, it was actually lighter than the current Envy 14 by like .2lb..It was also a little thinner too since it didn't have an optical drive. The only downside of the 13 is that they probably wouldn't be able to fit the 8 cell battery and we'll end up with a 4 cell like last time..I would buy a 13 only if it had longer battery life than the 14 and is significantly smaller..unless we can have 13, 14 ,15 and 17 =D

Honestly, the 14 is as bulky and chunky and people claim. This is actually pretty lighter than I expected.
