I have recently bought an HP DV6000t laptop with an NVidia 7400 Go graphics card, and have been satisfied with it for the most part. There are several issues though that have been an annoyance that I have not been able to work out.

Question 1: When running a program full screen in a non-native resolution, such as 1024, is it possible to keep it in it's normal proportions with black borders without having it stretch to the entire screen?

Question 2: Is it possible to adjust the desktop gamma?

It seems to me that the software provided for graphics is very limited and is very frustrating.

I thank anyone in advance for any help they can provide.

Are you using Vista or XP?
A1: It depends on the program you are running, try to disable the fullscreen mode, if it's available...
A2: There are not many options and utilities for Graphic Card tune in Vista, but you can access a big list of color correction of nVidia in XP.
