    I just bought a hp dv9543cl, t7300, NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GS etc...

i haven't had time to call hp tech support, but i was wondering if i am able to upgrade the processor up to t7000, and the graphics card up to 8600m gt, or even 8700m gt

Processor can be done, but the VGA they won't. The machine is designed to handle a certain level of heat and thus the 8600GS was probably the max it could handle.

gee, that's a pretty beefy machine..you could upgrade the CPU, but not the graphics.

Yes, but it's not worth the money/hassle.

I am informed the dv9543cl cannot be upgraded for ram to any more than the 2 gig ram that came with it stock, nor can faster ram be installed. Is this true?

You can upgrade to 4GB of RAM (2 x 2GB sticks), and the fastest RAM that will go in your laptop is 667Mhz. If you are interested in purchasing RAM, I have 4GB of G.skill for sale, I used it in my laptop for a week, and then ended up returning the laptop and I still have the memory just sitting there. If you are interested send me a message.

And also, its really not worth it to pay the money to get the T7700 for your laptop at the moment. If you waited a bit for the prices to go down, then it would be more reasonable for the upgrade because it will be a lot cheaper. At the moment though, the cost far outweighs the benefits.
