So I get a bunch of green pixels on the screen when I am looking at some webpages or pictures. I've noticed it mostly against dark colors on websites. But I've even noticed it on stock background images on my desktop. Anyone have any ideas? Is it a hardware or software issue? Video card? Driver? I've got the 1920x1080 dv6t. I've tried different screen resolutions and it still did it.

    Thanks...

If they're not persistent then your screen is fine, pretty obvious.

It's probably a video driver problem, try to use driver sweeper and do a clean installation of the newest HP display driver.

Well, I don't know a whole lot about this, but here is what I would guess. Based on the info you provided, they are not persistent and not always in the same spot, correct? If that is the case, I would guess either random errors somewhere, or it is just rendering certain colors incorrectly. This could be caused by either a malfunctioning driver, or possibly faulty hardware. Try changing the color profile while viewing a webpage that produces the error and see what happens. Also, try re-installing the video drivers.

Does it appear when the 6770m is active?

I get a similar thing sometimes when I play a video in the background, I have no idea why and they disappear. Its like certain pixels on the web page are transparent or something. try moving something behind the window, or move the window around.

Well for what it's worth...if anyone else has this happen, I chatted with the HP folks and they think it's a hardware issue with the LCD display. They're going to replace it. Hopefully that works.
