I've currently got a HP Pavilion dv6-3001tx. Since about a week ago my screen has lots of green and purple/pink dots on the darker areas. I connected an external monitor and found out it's not the hardware problem. So what do you think the problem is? ribbon cable or LCD itself.

    Thanks for your time.

LCD Cable is like 10x cheaper than new panel, so I'd try that first.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try to disassemble my screen and disconnect/reconnect the ribbon cable to see if the LCD's problem.

If you still have warranty i would recommend sending it in because cracking it open will kill the warranty.

Already RMA'ed the machine for huge heat problems. Managed to get heatsink repaired. Don't know what to do now. Can't seem to get the bezel off.
