I have the ability to pick up an E14 w/ Radiance AND an Intel SSD for $1200.

It also has an i5-520 and 4GB RAM. It has one scratch on the back left side.

My ONLY hesitation is I really wanted the beats version, since I have an Envy 17 and they'll look exactly the same. I really had my heart set on the Beats edition, even though this appears to be a phenomenal deal.

Also, given the limitations of the 5650, won't the lower resolution of the beats be better for gaming, or will the difference be negligable? Any chance you think of HP releasing a better screen before Xmas?

I'm really torn guys, I have another day to decide.

I really wanted a better screen than trubright, but I also really wanted the beats edition.

I guess I can't have my cake and eat it too. :(

Stay away from Beats Audio aka Monster Cable. Please please please. Do you really want to spend the extra money and get a lower resolution screen just for a logo on the laptop?

If it helps in your decision making the beat edition will show fingerprints and smudges a lot more then the regular version due to the black color. A minor thing for some people but if I spend a lot on a computer I don't want it to always look dirty!

beats version is just the regular version with a different chassis (and no radiance display)

If I had a choice between that and my beats id totally take the radiance. I had to finance my beats and it had no tax so I took that.

Take the Radiance Display. It's well worth it.

I bought my Beats Edition primarily because it's the only Envy Costco had for sale, and I buy all my electronics from them because of their 90-day return policy. And, I love the look and feel.

However, if I could have, I'd likely have saved the $150 and gone with the standard Envy 14. If I were you, I'd probably go for the deal for $1200, but I'd do it for the SSD drive as opposed to the Radiance screen. I think the Brightview is just fine, actually.

Why a 14" and 17" Envy? I want a netbook to maximize portability.

14 is a nice compromise between power and mobility.

    Exactly.

I don't use a desktop. I have use for multiple laptops with different purposes.
