My DV23105NR left palm rest is VERY hot. If I feel the bottom side it's even hotter. The hard drive feels like it's on fire.

    Using speedfan, my temps are:

    Temp1: 58
    Tempt2: 61
    Core: 55

Note: I am using rightmark and have undervolted it... and it's still very hot.

These temperatures were taken while almost basically idle, I browsed the net a bit.. nothing more.

    Are these temps normal?

Those CPU temperatures look reasonable. What is the HDD temperature?

If you are using XP then Mobilemeter will give the temperatures. Otherwise, other software can read it.

If your computer has air vents in the front of the palm rest, then a down-side of undervolting and consequently reduced fan activity can be less airflow with less cooling in other parts of the computer. However, HDDs shouldn't get above about 45C in normal use unless you have a fast and hot HDD. What make / model HDD?

Hard Drive: WDC WD16 00BEVS-60RST SCSI DISK DEVICE

    Stock 160gb hard drive.

I am using Vista, I can't figure out how to get the hard drive temperature, I downloaded a few programs but none will give me the temperature (including speedfan).

But it's gotta be as hot as the CPU, if not hotter.

No vents on the front of my case... thanks for the help.
