If its possible to upgrade, HP may sell you a BD drive. But HP is not going to replace it for free if thats what your wondering. This is the down side of being an early adopter on a technology that did not have a single format. Just ask all those past that bought Beta Max VCR players. Not only is HP not going to offer BD replacements, they are probably wondering how they are going to unload all their HD DVD drives that they already have in inventory. I went to Sams club yesterday and saw an expensive Toshiba model with 1080P screen resolution with HD DVD drive. You can bet they will try to take advantage of somebody for those as well.

Yep its rather sad. Toshiba just announced officially they are throwing in the towel. Probably now is a good time to buy up HD DVD blank media for those that are interested as HD DVD for data. Because I have a felling even the blank media will disappear soon.
