Ok all, I am trying to convince my husband that I need a Hitachi 7200rpm drive for my new ZX5000 which currently has a 60GB 4200rpm drive. He is concerned that this isn't HP supported hardware. He also wants to know supported transfer rates for the laptop. Of course, in the heat of this argument, I can't find this info. He is also concerned that I am not getting my information directly from HP - do we have any info from HP on this? Thanks for all the help you can provide!

Ok, now hubby has another question. Why are we putting an ATA-6 drive on a laptop that apparently only supports up to ATA-100?

Any benchmarks or just words of "I have an ATA-6 7200rpm drive in XXXX model of laptop" would be helpful!

    Thanks again!

Never mind, he is now humbled by the fact that ata-6 and ata-100 are the same thing!
