    HD on laptop?

    Do laptops support High definetion viewing? or will there now be a new type of laptop screen? i got a Compaq R4000

    The resolution of your laptop is already higher than HD. You'll need a HD tuner of course.

    what do you mean by a HD tuner? as in a tv tuner that supports hd?

    Yes. There are a few USB HDTV tuners out there (I have one). Your notebook screen is enough for 720p resolution (1280x720) but not enough for 1080i (1920x1080). Most of the cheaper LCD and plasma TVs only do 720p anyhow though. If you really want to do 1080i you'll want a nice standalone 24" widescreen LCD display.

    There are some HD videos out there, like Apples 1080p movie trailers. Blu-ray movies (which are 1080p) are coming out later this year, although that will require a BD drive ($$$).
