Sharper picture, clarity, and level of detail of anything you view.

Laptops aren't just for watching movies...

What's the point in installing a DVD player/codec on a desktop that doesn't have a DVD drive? You can still get DVD media onto that hard drive.
The same can be said for getting HD-DVD content onto your laptop hard drive through a network or external HD-DVD drive and watching it from there in due time. This is especially handy if you have something like a 17" laptop and no HDTV set available.
Also, consider the add-on USB HDTV Tuners. The one I'm looking at and hoping to get is as follows: http://www.fusionhdtv.co.kr/eng/Products/HDTV5usb.aspx -
Is HP marketing "HD screens" now?
Any LCD with a widescreen resolution could qualify as HD... HD res is 1280x720 (720p) or 1920x1080 (1080i/p)
most laptop widescreens are 1280x800, 1440x900, or 1920x1200 -
If you look in the My Videos folder in the All Users account in Documents and Settings you will find high def windows media files. In short, that is their reason for justifying the high def claim.
HD screen whats the point?
