I'm planning on FINALLY pulling the trigger for my R4000 CTO purchase on Monday & was wondering if I will notice that much of a difference if I go for the 60GB 5400RPM instead of the 4200RPM. I, personally, think it depends largely on what I'm used to. I'm currently using a Presario 2199us laptop w/40GB...
How can I find out if it's 4200RPM or better (& how much of a buffer it has...2-8MB)?
Also, how many megs are the buffers for the two R4000 harddrives?
Final question, with all this deadpixel talk, I'm curious if my current screen has some that I haven't noticed...What program can I use to check?
Thanks in advance!!

You should definitely get the 5400RPM drive, unless you're planning on swapping in a 7200RPM drive on your own (which gives you faster access times but about the same throughput). Most people should just get a 5400RPM drive from HP. Very noticible difference either way.

Bump...

I wouldn't, but again, maybe I am just unlucky
