I've been sitting here for hours trying to figure out how to get my tv to work with my hdmi port on my dv6700. No matter what I do the computer doesn't detect the tv, so I can't set it as a second monitor.

I've updated the nvidia drivers to no avail, I can't think of what else to try.

I just bought the cable, so I doubt it's that....I guess I could see if it'll work on my xbox though.

    It's an RCA 46" LCD

any one else have any ideas?

called HP support and they weren't help at all...actually quite disappointing...gave me a link to a guide that wasn't anything to do with this problem...and kept insisting it was the solution. :(

    1. Go the your video card control panel and make sure you can see the tv when it is plugged in to the HDMI cable. My NVIDIA panel ask which input you would like to use. Your TV should show up on the list. I have a dv5 HP.
    2. Make sure the TV is on the correct input. On my samsung I can only use one of four HDMI inputs with a computer. Put the cable in the wrong input and you get nothing.

    Hope this helps
