    Hi,

I connected my laptop to my projector using the HDMI connection, but the picture on the laptop monitor kept changing the between large and small a few times and then it just stopped responding while displaying nothing on the projector. Has anyone here successfully used the HDMI connection? I sure would appreciate your help. Also, I notice that the laptop has 2 refresh rates (59 hertz and 60 hertz). The default setting is 59 hertz. What is the difference between the two? Would I gain anything by setting it at 60 hertz? Thank you.

I don't understand why there's a 59Hz refresh rate option. That's weird. 60Hz seems to be the standard.

Anyway. Vista? I'm not suprised. I don't have an HDMI display to connect to, but I connected my S-Video to my tv and it didn't work. I believe the tv out just doesnt work. Until nVidia releases better drivers.....

Microsoft has new Vista update on its website now including one for the GeForce card. Is it better to download GPU driver update from Microsoft or from nVidia?

I don't have a HDMI dispay either, but tried the S-Video and was bummed it didn't work for me, either.

    Hi,

I got the HDMI connection working. It's so simple I feel like an idiot. I changed the refresh rate to 60 hertz first. Then I went to Control Panel/Nvidia control panel/Display to choose how the picture is displayed.

If you think everything looks good on your laptop screen, you will be in for a surprise because everything looks better on a quality external display. Text, pictures, movies look better even on my cheap Optoma HD70 projector. It's not just the size increase (my projector screen is 92''), but the quality is definitely better. I am happy now.
