Each night before I head to bed, I close the lid on my new HDX 16t, which puts it to sleep. In the morning, however, about 50% of the time I find it "awake". The lid is still closed, but the HP logo is illuminated and the fan and HD are running.

Any ideas about how to prevent this?

Try disabling WOL (wake on Lan) in the Bios setting.

Internal Network Adapter Boot is already set to Disabled. There is no WOL setting that I can see in the BIOS...

Do you have a TV tuner?

When I first got mine I had the same problem. Turns out it was the TV software trying to download the TV listings in the middle of the night.

Yes, I do have the TV tuner. Did you disable it going out to get program guides?

I don't have access to my notebook right now, but from memory it was from the hp media program. Go to the default TV settings--the part where it asks you if you have cable or over the air, etc. There will be an entry asking you when to download the TV listings.

Sorry I couldn't help more. I just remember the problem and was wondering if I had burglers coming in the house at night to play with my computer ;-)
