    Hi All,

Last week I ordered a DV5t and just saw yesterday I could get the HDX16 with Blue Ray for even less cost with the current 15% off coupon. So I'm thinking about canceling that order to buy the HDX16.

Question 1: Does the HDMI port handle both video and audio like the one on the dv5t? I assume so, but wanted to be sure.

Question 2: If I will be watching the majority of Blu-Ray movies on my TV through the HDMI cable, does the laptop screen resolution matter? The upgrade to 1920x1080 has been bumped up to $175, which seems excessive to me.

Question 3: If I get the 720p vs 1920x1080 screen, will the Blu-Ray player even make a difference over a standard dvd player?

Sorry if these questions have been answered somewhere else. I did a search and read through 15 or so pages of the HDX16 owner's thread, but couldn't find this specific pieces of information.

Bump it up, someone help him I'm curious too. I know the audio will work, but the other questions I am curious too.

I would guess that with the 720 screen if you played it on a 1080 tv it would play it at 1080.....however lets get some more knowledgeable answers.

I played a 720 p movie on my friends 800x600 projector and it looked really nice. Thats my only experience so far.

Answer 1: The HDMI port handles both audio and video. so no problem there.

Answer 2: The resolution on the laptop screen doesn't matter when connecting to an external display. The resolution is limited by the "active" display, meaning whatever you're viewing the video on.

Answer 3: Yes. 720p is higher than a dvd resolution so the video has to be stretched which it wont with a blu-ray movie. Go for the blu ray if you can afford it. It seems to me that you want to use the laptop as a blu ray player with your TV?

    Hope this helps.
