I am trying to decide between a few laptops here for school (mechanical engineering to be exact). I was thinking a Lenovo W500 or T500, Dell XPS, or HP HDX16t or dv5t? I can get the HDX16t at costco for $1,660 with the following:
    C2D P8600 (2.4GHz)
    4GB DDR2
    320GB at 7200rpm
    512MB 9600 GT
    Blu-ray ROM
    ...and the other stuff.
What do you guys think? Is this a good laptop for the price? Would it meet all my future needs for college?
$1,660 is pretty good compared to other laptops with similar set-ups. You HDX16t people...Do you like your notebooks? What would you suggest to a newbie to the laptop world?
    Thanks
    Josh
