    Hello guys.

I bought my HDX18 close to 2 years ago now, and have been using it ever since without major issues. However, playing video games has become quite a challenge, as the computer simply becomes too hot nowadays and often shuts off with no warning.

Clearly, the fan is full of hair and dust inside. My Compaq V4000T has a very nice access to the processor - you simply take 4 screws out and you're right on the heatsink. It does not seen to be the case with HDX. From what I see, I would have to take the entire laptop apart to do that. Has anyone tried to clean it up? Any instructions of how to do that? Thanks!

Hm... It does not mention that it will be accessible right under the keyboard... However, just look in 4-47. Its pretty much the last part you take out, it seems.

    Update:

Ended up taking everything apart, as it says in the instructions. Tooks about an hour, but looks like I did not screw anything up! Its running really cold now, almost getting frostbite when I touch it! :)
