I've searched but cannot seem to find information on the above and am hoping someone can help me on this.
1) Can someone post what the 3DMark06 score is for this laptop and what CPU is being used?
2) Can someone post framerates for UT3, HL2, and similar games at the default laptop resolution and highest game settings?
3) What chipset does the motherboard use and what is the maximum RAM speed. I see the CPU is 1066 FSB but cannot find information on the RAM.
I'm considering this alongside the Alienware m15x. I want something that I can game with while at the same time use for work and general entertainment. I love the "bling" of the m15x and the portability, but the more I think of it the HDX18t seems to provide a lot more features for less money sans the high end video card... and you can get accidental damage insurance to boot.
Any help would be appreciated - the sooner the better![]()
Thanks.

3dmark06 score should be approx 4300....since 9600M GT on this uses DDR2.It should perform just like a dv5t.
It can hold 8GB DDR2-800mhz RAM.
If you want flagship gaming performance then go for Alienware. But HP minus its video card has better overall features... -

If gaming is a priority (max rez, eye candy to max when able, First Person Shooters are your bread and butter), then the HP series is not for you.
Whitebook, Voodoo, Asus, Toshiba, Gateway and Alienware all offer good gaming notebooks.
Xoticpc has a really nice selection of customized notebooks that run the gambit.
If you're a light gamer or don't mind ramping down the visuals for acceptable game play, the HP series isn't bad. You just have to pick your battles.
