I'm new here and i would like to get some help with my Hp HDX9430EF.
First, my VGA card has failed. I bought a new one, but now my computer doesn't' boot.
When i push the power button, leds and fans comes on, CAPS LOCK led flashes and after many and many seconds (45 - 60 secs ?), the computer emits a single bit, and then again after a few seconds (10sec).
Nothing at screen, nothing on external monitor too.
I have tried to flash bios with "BIOS RECOVERY PROCEDURE" in this page with external usb floppy drive with the lastest bios F41E modified bios.

When i plug my P.O.S.T debug card i can read this :
D0 > Memory presence test : OEM specific, test size of onboard memory.
40 > Prepare decriptor table
5B > Unknow Code
4C > Clear memory above 1MB
55 > A20 Gate disabled
Can anyone help me please ?

- Did you extract the Rom.bin file and rename it 68DVD.bin?
- Did you hold down the Windows and "B" key simultaneously and continue to hold it a few seconds after power on and until the floppy drive light comes on?
- What model of USB floppy drive did you use?
- What video card did you install (Nvidia or ATI?) and where did you get it from? Only the ones made by HP for the HDX will work since it is custom. A standard 8800M GTS MXM card will NOT work.
- Did you extract the Rom.bin file and rename it 68DVD.bin?

- Yes i've extracted Rom.bin file and renamed it 68DVD.bin on a new no-boot floppy disk.
- Yes i've pressed windows + B, floppy have been accessed and flash seems to be done
- I've used a Sony USB floppy drive
- I've bought a HP HDX nvidia 8800gts vga card, not a standard MXM. (same to this one > http://i583.photobucket.com/albums/ss276/DDerek20/IMG_0043.jpg ) -
You might need to try the BIOS flash again. But before you do:
1. Take the AC power out, remove the battery and hold down the power button for 30 secs.
2. AC in, battery in and try to reflash the BIOS.
If that doesn't work, remove the RTC battery (the CR2032 watch battery on the motherboard). Leave it out for a few hours. Then put it back in and try to boot up. Hopefully it will boot up reporting that the date and time are not set. The time and date gets set in the OS.
Outside of that, you can either try a new floppy disk with a different density or a different USB floppy drive altogether.
There is also the possibility that you received a bad video card. Where did you buy it from (what vendor, what country)?
