I just purchased a customised dv9500t a couple of weeks ago from the hp website. It had been working fine so far, but today I was using it without the AC power cable plugged in when i got the low battery (less than 5%) message. I plugged in the AC cord and my laptop screen went blank. After that, I've been trying to turn it on but to no avail. When I connect the AC cord, I don't see the circular blue light which usually lights up at the site of the AC power cable connection. When I press the power button, the battery light on the bottom left of the laptop blinks two or three times and nothing happens.

I'm freaking out guys, because even though technically my laptop is under warranty, I had a relative purchase it and bring it from the US to my country and I don't think it has international warranty and the shipping costs back to the US are prohibitive. What should I do?

If the light where you plug on the power cord is not lit, then it's not getting power. Could it be that the laptop shut itself down because the battery was too low? A blinking light when you try to power it up could be it telling you that it won't turn on without power.

You'll need to figure out if there's power coming from your AC adapter. Do you have an electric meter or access to one?

No, I don't have an electric meter. I took the battery out and then put it back in and tried powering it on again but still nothing. This is pretty stressful for me because it will be a nightmare sending the notebook back to the US and the notebook is not covered by warranty where I live (pakistan).

Its probably just your powercord, dont freak out dude. Aslong as your computer is still blinking meaning no batt, it should be fine.

Worst case scenario would have been your board got fried, but luckily thats not the case

The transformer in the power cord probably died from maybe an unstable power source there in Pakistan
