    HELP! screen is TWITCHING!!

    hi, well its morely for my friends laptop because the screen just keeps shaking or twitching. so he adjusts the settings and sooner or later again it starts doin it again. he started several times and just keeps happening. only way to make it stop is to adjust the screen everytime.. anyone know what this could be because of?? its a hp 17in. i believe dv8000??

    Probably the LCD cable. Though in these cases it could also be the system board or LCD itself.

    Same thing is happening to my old Toshiba Satellite 5005-S504, that's why I'm looking for a new laptop. The screen is fine for a few minutes and then starts jumping with black scrolling horizontal lines. Adjusting the angle of the LCD affects the jerking, but doesn't stop it. This all started after I noticed the LCD hinges having trouble smoothly adjusting to different angles ... the hinges pop into position instead of smoothly sliding. I also noticed the bottom right and left corners of the screen getting extremely hot.
