So i'm in quite a situation. About a week ago the window near my desk fell over, knocking a glass of water onto my notebook. Not sure how much got on, but it was a very good amount that was all over the keyboard. I quickly disconnected the battery and unplugged it. I cleaned it off and waited a few hours and tried to turn it on. Well it was on for a bit then shut off. After that I turned it off, cleaned it more, and waited a week before i turned it on again, letting the water evaporate and what not.
Anyways, turned it on this morning and everything works great... well, except my L key no longer works. I lifted it up a bit and looked under, and there seems to be some white stuff under it (im guessing corrosion). I'm hoping if i'm able to get the key off and clean that junk off they key will work again, unless you guys have any better idea.
Does anyone know how to take the keys off safetly, or the keyboard out if thats what I should do. Or does anyone have any other useful suggestions for this problem? Thanks

probably shouldnt have turned it on the first time!
you really need to leave it off for quite some time to let the water dry.
i think there was a service guide for the DV9000, you could probably find it on the HP site. it tells you how to take the laptop apart -
well i took it apart and didn't see any corrosion on anything aside from that key on the keyboard. everything under the keyboard looked great, and like i siad, it started up without any problems. I call some place up and they recommended buying a new keyboard for the laptop, cost around $60 I guess. They also said cleaning it probably wouldn't help, once the damage was done to the key. maybe ill just go that route
