Hi all.
I've worked long and hard in order to purchase my HP Compaq 6735B Notebook on January 25th at Canada Computers here in Toronto as a Demo non-used, non-refurbished unit. I specifically asked for details of it being NEW and never used or purchased.
Today I checked HP's site for details on upgrading to Win7 and found that I needed to register the notebook ... only to find out that the Warranty Expires on March 4th 2010. :O![]()

If you've ever had the feeling of being swindled and wronged without cause or reason then you know how I feel at this moment. What is tough is that I just got a new job after being unemployed for almost 3mths and beginning to establish myself and a good employee ... and for me to request a day off just to run through the hurdles of travelling to the retailer (Canada Computers) wait for them to triple-check with Head Office and wait for a decision for a full refund, is pressing enough already.
I've tried contacting HP and have been passed around more than any girl named Susie/Susan in those old 70's songs.
Canada Computers insists that I need some kind of RN/TEN or confirmation number from HP stating that Warranty does end March 4th which online it does - and I've printed it.

1-800-334-5144 (automated queue, finally got me to somebody who bounced me to Commercial Products due to the model number.
They did confirm that the warranty ends this Thursday. ARRRGH!
Commercial Products stated I need to contact "Warranty Related Querries & Information" @ 1-800-407-6210. which is CLOSED.
I need help and searching for Warranty on these boards generates way too many threads to comb through. This is not giving a good impression on HP products to me ... but I DO love their products. I don't even NEED warranty support right now ... but down the road should I need it I don't want to be screwed, yet again.
Does anybody have a 24 number for assistance?!

Hi all.
I just wanted to say that with all the issues I had with calling Canada Computers Head Office and HP it turns out my issue is resolved.
My joy does NOT go out to HP - part of my warranty issue is that they changed their warranty policy mid year when the store had my 6735B in stock. Another part of my issue is with the Head Office of Canada Computers which really had no clue what I was going through - they don't read the full emails I guess.
My joy and relief goes out to the College Street Canada Computers Store Manager & the cool service center staff. They were all VERY understanding and worked their magic on the Head Office to allow my RMA for a full return.
I'll be returning a bit of the small favor tonight with BEER>
