When I turn my HP laptop on i get the message that windows did not start succesfully, and what follows are ways in which to start it again (safe mode, last known configuration etc)
Having tried these, all that happens is the XP logo appears, a flash of a blue screen - it begins to load but eventually returns to the original message. I've tried a system restore (using F11) but it won't let me. The blue screen that sometimes appears tells me of possible "hard drive corruption" and a general problem with windows.

I am willing to lose the work that was originally on the hard drive, if it allows me to get the laptop up and running again. Any advice would be hugely appreciated.
