So here is the problem: I recently performed a clean install of Vista, all the appropriate drivers have been installed (Nothing is unaccounted for in Device Manager).

HP Quickplay and Windows Media Center both recognize the TV Tuner itself, and there is static snow whenever I select the TV viewing function.

Before the clean install, the TV function worked fine. I could pick up a few channels using the included antenna, and the cable TV adapter worked as well. Now, after the clean install, I pick up no channels. I was hoping it was just poor reception, but it no longer detects cable channels through the adapter as well.

Does anybody know what could be the problem? Thanks in advance for any help.

Did you ever discover a fix for this issue? I just did a clean install on my hdx18 and everything is back up and running except the tuner. MCE doesnt even recognize a tuner is installe though? I installed the latest drivers from HPs website...no luck

    dude just an afterthought

you do realise there are 02 drivers on the HP site
    one for Digital tuner (integrated)
    second for Hybrid tuners (integrated)

what type of tuner do you have listed as installed

LapBoot - I have not tried HP support as I did the clean install myself so they will probably just tell me the problem is a result of my own meddling, but I may just give them a call since I don't know what else to do.

aphex - I did the automatic setup and where it used to show each available channel as it did the automatic scan, it now just shows blackness in HP's quickplay, and static snow in Windows Media Center.

paradigm - I tried doing what you said when the new TV tuner drivers came out recently, but it still doesn't work. I am also aware of the two different types of drivers, and I have installed the correct drivers for my Hybrid tuner as well. I still receive no signal.

Anyone ever figure this out? Its very annoying. I did a full clean install of Vista and everything worked but the TV card. All I would get is analogue. No digital signal. I hope someone figures this out.
