Hello, I received my Compaq C762NR yesterday and made a recovery disc of Vista Premium using the Hp's "Recovery Disc Creation".

After that I tried to downgrade from vista to xp using my Win Xp CD but when I booted the notebook from the CD, it told me that it cannot find any harddrives, so I searched the web and found out that I had to first disable the "Sata Native Support" from BIOS before installing XP. The Xp install can now find the HDs but I haven't downgraded yet.

    Because

I checked the HP site to see if they have XP drivers available for this model and shockingly, they only have the Storage driver, "Intel Matrix Storage Manager" and some softwares available under the XP drivers.

Heres the link for the Xp drivers at Hp.com

So does anyone know where I can find the rest of drivers? Should I just not downgrade to XP since there aren't enough XP drivers available from Hp?
    Please Help :)

EDIT: There are a whole bunch of drivers for the Vista but I'm pretty sure that I cannot install Vista drivers on Win Xp.. am I correct??

So I decided to install XP with my XP disc and so I followed the instructions on this guide http://www.xaqdesign.com/c762nr.html, and according to this guide all I needed to do was to first disable SATA native support and then format the computer and install XP.

So I first disabled the SATA native support and then booted from the XP disc which allowed me to format the hard drive. After it was done formatting and copying files to the hard drive, the system restarted but did not continue to install XP. I have no idea why I cannot install XP on to my harddrive,,,, now when I start my system, it keeps on restarting itself because I have no OS on my hard drive.

    Can anyone help me please?
