    Guys,

    I am wondering if we can send petition (and/or just wish that somehow they might care to listen) to provide a higher resolution screen for 15.4".

    That old trend that wiggle slowly in the 1280*800 is OuT oF dAtE. Toshiba, Dell, Acer care to provide higher resolution in 1680*1050. Any efforts guys to join me..

    cheer =)

    Actually, I couldn't disagree much more. I find absolutely no need for resolution higher than 1280 x 800 (in widescreen - obviously, a standard-resolution monitor would call for a higher vertical pixel count).

    HP used to offer it on the zv5000, but for some reason stopped. Probably cause relatively few opted for it, but I'll sign.

    I had 1680x1050 on my old zv5000z, but I must admit it makes much more sense on a 17" notebook like my new dv8000z. (Unfortunately, my dv8000z is only 1440x900 res since I picked up a nice retail model on sale. Very easy on the eyes though.)

    Hi Brian,

    Well, on a 17" screen with that res, I know is very ideal, however raising the resolution standard in a 15.4" won't hurt IMHO. Nowadays we need to read lots of text and sometimes I wonder with the 17" standard..

    just my 2 cents =)

    I thought WSXGA+ was perfect for a 15.4", but obviously it is a personal preference.

    WSXGA screen?.. you mean it would be double backlight but the resolution would remain the same? 1280*800.....

    or higher 1440*900. Please, let's vote for higher res.... [oh I'm desperate]
