This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Hi all,

    I have cross posted this to the windows forum so sorry if you have already read it.

    Windows 8 came preinstalled on this laptop and works fine apart from shutting down/restarting. Fairly regularly it stalls on the "shutting down" screen indefinitely and can only be fixed by holding the power button down.

    I tried disabling the fast boot option which was suggested elsewhere but that didnt work.

    Has anyone had this issue?
