If one goes to the official hp business website and custom configures an nc8430 notebook, one is presented with two options for wireless technology.

The first option towards the top of the page is a place for "Wireless Hardware." The options there read as follows:
    No item selected
    No Wireless
    Broadcom 802.11 a/b/g US
    Intel 802.11 a/b/g MOW 1

Later on down the page, there is another option for "Wireless LAN Soluions." Regardless of what was previously selected, herein lies another menu with the following:
    No Item Selected
    Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Card

The first Intel option is cheaper than the second. Both can be selected or disselected at the same time.
    What is the difference?

The first ones are mounted to the motherboard/internal. The Second selection is a PCMIA card. Correct me if im wrong.

edit: oh yea go for the first, I would get the Broadcom in my opinion.

So I could just get the Broadcom and nothing else for wireless to function?
