    HP "estimated ship date"?

    Posting this here because it seems more of a general HP question...

    I ordered a dv6t Quad Edition on July 1st. I realize it hasn't yet been two weeks since the order, but HP is giving me an estimated ship date of July 29th. I thought four weeks was fairly outrageous, and after some searching, I found that HP generally gives an estimated ship date of no more than two weeks away, and many receive a "ready to ship" email a few days prior to that date. I did customize the laptop to a fair extent, but I don't see how that could effect the date so dramatically.

    So am I in some weird situation where HP is unable to ship my laptop until a month from my order date? If not, has anyone had a shipping date that far in the future who could clue me in to what's going on? Any help/comments/suggestions are greatly appreciated, many thanks.

    I believe the estimated shipping date was pushed back for everyone because a component was out of stock. I don't this date is very accurate. For my dv6tse, my estimated ship date was July 28. It shipped yesterday.

    i placed my order for the dv6tse on july 4th, its expected to ship on august 1st :(

    It's the "worst case scenario and then some" date.

    The reason why the estimated ship date is so far away is that there was a shortage of some components when you ordered it.

    That shortage has since cleared up, but the estimated ship date doesn't change. It should be shipped in a few days if you're lucky. Some other people who also ordered on August 1st have had theirs ship a couple days ago.

    i used the tracker online, still says "building". is that supposed to be updated when it ships?

    Remember also that even with fedex two day shipping, your package will be at the mercy of security and customs inspections at a min of two airports along the way.

    Yes, as soon as it's shipped, they will put a tracking number in the order status.

    folks hereabouts might want to look up the definition of "estimated".

    hint: it's not synonymous with "guaranteed"......

    Don't worry about it, I just got the DV4 ordered July 12 with shipping on July 25, and it just shipped with tracking number from fedex.

    I suppose that the real ship date is depend on if there is any component out of stock

    I ordered my DV6T QE on July 6th, and it shipped today (July 26th) from Shanghai with an ETA of August 2nd.
