I apologize in advance if a thread like this has already been created. I did a quick search and didn't really see a thread dedicated providing information for HP and their shipping methods. To date, I have purchased 3 different computers from HP.COM, all CTO (Configured To Order). In all cases, Fedex delivered long before the Estimated Delivery Date. I provided a screenshot of my most recent order.
This thread is to pretty much inform users that the Estimated Delivery Date just doesn't appear all that useful. Keep in mind that Fedex changed my Estimated Delivery Date three times. It first said March 31st, then the next day it changed to April 1st and a few hours later it changed to April 5th. I was bummed because I was expecting my laptop tomorrow, and was a bit annoyed when the date was changed all the way to April 5th. In any case, I just received my package today, March 30th. (a day earlier than the first Estimated Delivery Date).
Now, I am guessing that because customs clearance can be an unknown time-frame that Fedex probably just gives itself a huge window of time, in case of major delays. I hope others find this information helpful. I have attached a screenshot.![]()

I can echo what ArchAngel says above. My "estimated delivery date" for my DV6 is April 5th - But it's on the truck for delivery right now. The laptop was ordered on March 14th. I received the "ready to ship" email on March 28th.
