So I just read on NBR front page that MS is beginning to offer Vista Express upgrades starting thursday. Two questions:

    1) What exactly does this mean? If the HP I buy has XP Professional, what will this upgrade to, in terms of vista edition?

    2) I JUST bought a nc8430 today (8/24) on costcentral.com. If I call them and tell them to hold my order until 8/26, will I be eligible for this upgrade program? Should I just cancel and order again in 2 days? Is it even ok to buy from a reseller, or does it have to be direct from HP?

Frankly, it is too early to tell. HP's vista page hasnt yet been updated. If you really want the upgrade to Vista, it might be good idea to wait. HP might not take the day the laptop shipped but rather the day it was billed/ordered, so if you really want to be safe cancel it and reorder.
