hello everyone, I'm new to the board and this will be my first post. I was experiencing problems with my thrifty hp ze4530 with a 2.4celeron(uggghhhh) and after having returned it to be repaired twice with no avail they are sending me a new computer.[ :D]I am amazed because there was only ten days left on my warranty and the have extended the warranty for another year and sent me a notebook worth 3x what I originally paid! Anyway, they are sending me a HP zv5330 with the p4 3.2w/ht, 512mb, and brightview screen. Figured I'd get some input from you guys on what I should expect from the new cpu, performance? cooling? screen quality, fill me in guys should be here in the next couple of days so I can review myself

what a hay day. you made out big time on that "exchange". You can expect nice performance from that P4 3.2 for sure, a whole lot better than the 2.4 celeron you had. Your battery life will not be stellar though. The BrightView screen is very nice, you will enjoy that.

I can't imagine why HP saw fit to give you a laptop 3 times the value of the one you sent in, but do enjoy and thanks for posting in the forums!

    Congrats!

I have the hp Pavilion zv5325ca and I'm very happy with it! I got it for free, along with their PhotoSmart 5.1MP R707 Digital camera and since I didn't spend a penny on this, I'm upgrading the RAM from 512MB to 1024MB.

Like abaxter said the battery life is weak, only 2 hours.

I always felt that HP has a remarkable sales practice, but this story impresses me.

Thanks for the info guys, I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked up the model number[:0]. The quality assurance technician just said "ok, send your old one back in, we'll send you a new one, it will probably be better than the one you have now if that's ok..." like I am going to argue with that! well anticipation took over me and I called him back to ask what the model # was and he gave me the zv5330, when I looked it up on the internet I couldn't believe it, a $1700 laptop replacing what I purchased for $599 a year ago, I couldn't be happier, it shows up tomorrow and I can't wait to give a review! just when you think your luck has run out! The funny part is the last time I sent in the laptop for repair I included a handwritten note jokingly asking whomever repaired my notebook to 'accidentally' put a better laptop back in the box rather than repair my old one, I wonder if my cpu was not repaired because of this note because it did not even have an OS installed when I received it back. lol...maybe this tech. was bored and decided to grant my wish for the christmas season!!!!!
