When i was on Windows 10, when i shutdown my computer the screen would go black, and normanly you hear the click as the power turn off, but it is not happening now, the power light stays on and does not go off, and i have to hold the power button down for 5 seconds or so to turn my computer off.

OK, so i did an clean install with Win8.1 and installed all the HP drivers, but still my computer will not fully turn off.

Has Win10 changed something in the UEFI bios, I did an reset to default but the problem is still there.

EDIT: I had a google and quite a few people on the HP forum are having this same problem after upgrading to Win10 when there computer not shutting down fully.

EDIT2: I installed my OEM image that came with my computer win8 and now it shuts down correctly.

But i am now back on Win8.1 and i am still having the problem.

    John.

I am glad nobody else is having this problem, I managed to fix my shutdown problem see below.

Go to " power options" and click on " choose what the power buttons do" then turn off " fast start-up" , at the bottom of the page, you might have to click " change settings that are currently unavailable"

Interesting... I don't even have that option (only sleep hibernate, shut down, turn off display).
