Just bought a new HP, 1.5 Dual Core with Vista. I am familar with Vista and know it is slow but this is painful.. I removed the obvious applications from Programs control panel. I still have 10 applications which begin with HP (IE HP Total Care, HP Easy Advisor, etc.) Should I just nuke all of this stuff or is there some value or are these even what's slowing my system down?
    Thanks!

    I say, nuke them all
All of them are utterly useless and waste of system resources...

Do a clean install and do not install any HP software other that the drivers and get 45second boot up times. Worked very well for me :)
